Emma Thornton is a dedicated to combatting the interconnected climate, biodiversity, and human rights crises through systems change. She currently works as a proposal manager and business development associate in Energy Solutions' Growth Management and Strategy team where she contributes to the company's mission of implementing justice-oriented market transformation solutions that deliver large-scale energy, carbon, and water-use savings for utility, government, and institutional clients. She's also a leader in the global youth climate space as a founding member of Youth4Nature, where she serves as the Private Sector Task Force Lead with the aim of fostering positive dialogue on sustainability best practices for firms and businesses as well as encourage youth education, involvement, and participation in decision-making in the private sector. Emma is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of the Honors Program at Northeastern University in Boston with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and a depth of expertise in sustainability and environmental justice, shaped by experiences with Environment America, Oxfam, MIT Poverty Action Lab, Ceres, the Rosengaus Lab, and the Northeast Environmental Justice Research Collaborative.
