Kyra Owensby

Kyra is a first-year Ph.D. student studying Energy Science and Engineering at the University of Tennessee. She is not yet in a lab, but her research will focus on improvements to electrochemical energy storage systems. Prior to pursuing her Ph.D., Kyra obtained her Bachelor's Degree in chemical engineering from Vanderbilt University. Her undergraduate research focused on improvements to next-generation batteries, while her independent research looked at entrepreneurship as a form of disaster resilience.
